Happy Halloween!
I hope you had a great Halloween, we certainly did!! We celebrated in several different ways. We went to the Louisville Zoo Halloween Party, the Pumpkin Patch Party at our church, Trinity and I went to the Halloween Parade in our town, we carved pumpkins, roasted pumpkin seeds, ate candy, decorated Halloween cookies, had pumpkin shaped PB&J sandwiches covered in orange sprinkles for lunch, and of course Trick-or-Treated!
Here is our Halloween in pictures
To end our Halloween festivities we picked out a small amount of candy to keep and set the rest out for the “Candy Witch” to take. In return for our bag of candy she left us two nice presents :). Thanks Traci for putting me in touch with the “Candy Witch” ;), I think we will invite her back every year!!

Keenan is 2!!
October 23, was Keenan’s second birthday! He is looking more and more like a big boy everyday (insert mommy’s tear here).
He is getting so big and learning new things and words everyday! I didn’t think it was possible but I think he may talk even more than Trinity does, he definitely gives her a run for her money :)!
We celebrated his birthday at my sister’s house while we were back home visiting.
There was the Construction Zone cake:
The bike: Doesn’t he look so Big!
The Rocking Horse: Papa (my Dad) made Keenan a rocking horse.
We had a great time celebrating Keenan’s birthday with family and friends! I am sure that it will be time to do it all again before I even blink.
Happy Birthday Keenan! We love you very much!!

When you have a sister………….
......
When you have a sister and girl cousins these things sometimes happen..........
You end up with barrettes in your hair!
Your tool box is full so you use the nearest empty bag
which happens to be a pink baby basket!
You play in pink and purple play houses!
But no amount of girly things can take the boy out of this little boy!
He loves to get sweaty and dirty!
He loves checking things out!! While wearing his favorite hat :)!
He likes to “fix” things with his tools.
He likes critters and creatures! (Look closely there’s a frog right beside the tree)
He found a frog in the backyard! Gabe said he was pointing and "talking" to something in the grass and then started walking around. Gabe finally realized it was a frog and went over to check it out. By the time I got back outside with the camera Keenan had followed it around the yard for almost 10 minutes! The poor frog finally found refuge from the interest of a 22 month old under the rock wall of our swing set!
I Love this little boy with all my heart!! He is so much fun. He is also funny and tries to make us laugh. He loves his big sister and he loves to be on the go! He is a true blessing in our lives!

Halloween in August
What is that, you ask……..that is a pumpkin. A pumpkin from our garden, not last fall, but today!!! We planted a garden this spring and it has become pumpkins and corn, everything else was taken over by the pumpkins!! We started it as an experiment, Gabe and I don’t know anything about gardening other than plant the seeds and water them. But we decided to give it a try and Trinity was very excited to have a garden.
So what do you do with pumpkins in August????? Well we have put bows on them, used half a thing of baby wipes to “clean” them (obviously this one was not my idea), carry them around, drop them (thank goodness none of them have busted…..yet), line them up from biggest to smallest and smallest to biggest and paint and marker them!
Ready to paint
Trinity’s was very creative, lots of hearts and smiley faces. She even made pink paint out of the red and white paint.
Mommy says Uh-Oh because Keenan is a mess (which is a little bit of an understatement, he had paint all the way up his elbows). Keenan says Uh-Oh because the paint brush he is playing with (no longer painting with) fell into the water.
Here are our masterpieces!! The sunflower in the middle is mine, I frequently feel the need to be crafty and messy with them, that’s the fun part of mommyhood!!!!!!

A dinner prepared in PEACE!
Last night I made this yummy looking thing for dinner! It’s French bread pizza!
The most important ingredients were peace and quiet!! How you ask….
My children were home, in the basement, doing this:dragging out every toy and watching Winnie the Pooh!
Yes, I bribed them down there with Winnie the Pooh and said “play and watch”! Keenan mostly played and Trinity mostly watched but they let me cook dinner in peace! I really needed it!! They have been in “moods” for several days now, I think they are having withdraws from VBS. Last week we had so much going on that was fun and exciting and this week was a little more back to normal.
This was one of those “ya do what ya gotta do to survive” things!
Just a little note; the basement still looks like that :)! We will clean it up ……… well who knows when but it’s okay because it’s just the basement!

Keenan's First Boat Trip
We finally got Keenan out on the lake!! Last season we didn’t boat because of moving at the beginning of the summer and the first time we tried to take him out this season, the boat wouldn’t start! No worries :), we just needed to rebuild the carburetor, it’s a good thing my wonderful hubby knows about these things!
So onto THE day! He was a little unsure at first but was thrilled to see all the other boats out on the lake. I don’t think he realized that he was on one too :). He tested out his new fishing pole, all he caught was a tire :)! (His Lightning McQueen fishing pole came with a little black tire to practice casting with.)
He played, tractors of course, in the cabin to get out of the sun for a little bit.
He warmed up to the water a bit by sitting on the transom with Daddy.
Then he decided to dip his feet in.
He loved playing on the “island” with Trinity and Daddy! It's like their own little mini-pool. It makes life a little easier for Mommy and Daddy too.
Then he decided to brave the lake with Mommy!
One of his favorite things to do was “drive” the boat!!
Trinity really enjoyed our first time out on the lake this season also!! She was so much braver than in years past. She was very comfortable to swim around in her life jacket and play in the water.Maybe by the end of the season we can get her to jump in!!!!
After so much excitement (and no nap!) he just couldn’t stand it anymore…….GOING!
GOING!
GONE!!!!!!!

Flowers from my Little Man
Here are my first flowers from my sweet little boy! He is just so sweet sometimes I could just gobble him up!
