Halloween in August

100_2122

What is that, you ask……..that is a pumpkin. A pumpkin from our garden, not last fall, but today!!! We planted a garden this spring and it has become pumpkins and corn, everything else was taken over by the pumpkins!! We started it as an experiment, Gabe and I don’t know anything about gardening other than plant the seeds and water them. But we decided to give it a try and Trinity was very excited to have a garden.

So what do you do with pumpkins in August????? Well we have put bows on them, used half a thing of baby wipes to “clean” them (obviously this one was not my idea), carry them around, drop them (thank goodness none of them have busted…..yet), line them up from biggest to smallest and smallest to biggest and paint and marker them!

Ready to paint

Before things got MESSY 100_2124

Markers work well too! 100_2125

Trinity’s was very creative, lots of hearts and smiley faces. She even made pink paint out of the red and white paint.100_2128

Mommy says Uh-Oh because Keenan is a mess (which is a little bit of an understatement, he had paint all the way up his elbows). Keenan says Uh-Oh because the paint brush he is playing with (no longer painting with) fell into the water.100_2133 100_2134

Here are our masterpieces!! The sunflower in the middle is  mine, I frequently feel the need to be crafty and messy with them, that’s the fun part of mommyhood!!!!!! 100_2136

Happy Father’s Day

Several months ago I came across a gift idea online that I thought was really cute and I filed it in the back of my mind (where things usually get lost!) for Father’s Day. Well this time my memory served me well and about a month ago I started collecting the items needed for our Father’s Day present for Gabe.  It turned out wonderfully!!! I’ll save the final product for the end and show you some of the fun we had on the way.

The original way needed a vertical, 5, 4x6 opening picture frame……….we looked everywhere and couldn’t find one without spending a fortune online so we improvised. We spelled out WE (heart) DADDY, instead of just DADDY. Here are our many attempts to get good pictures and by “our attempts” I mean me and the kids. I usually enlist Gabe’s helps on projects like these because photographing a 20 month old is near impossible!

Mmmm, look Mommy dropped fruit snacks in the grass.100_1666

  Wow, was that a bird!

100_1674 That dirt looks like fun!

100_1685 Keenan this is how you do it!!! Keenan…  Keenan…..aw he’s not paying attention, go figure!

Mom, I’m outta here, you don’t need the “Y” do ya?

Drum roll please------------- Introducing the final product!

As you can see, after two packs of fruit snacks for Keenan throughout the photo shoot and one for Trinity when we were finished, we took some great pictures. Most importantly Gabe loved it and proudly took it to work this morning to hang it in his office!!!
